The Nature Tots with BV County Naturalist Katie program is open for 2 –4 year olds. Children must be accompanied by an adult. It is held on the second Wednesday of the month at the Storm Lake Library at 10:30 AM. Each month is a different nature themed topic and will include: storytime, a snack, and an activity.

Remember Our Fallen Photographic War Memorial from Nov 07, 2016 01:00 PM to Nov 12, 2016 01:00 PM
The traveling memorial exhibit, "Remembering Our Fallen" will be on display at the library from the afternoon of November 7 through the morning of November 12. "Unlike most war memorials made of brick and mortar, this one includes both military and personal photos of our Fallen. Its legacy will be that these men and women will be remembered and their names will be spoken, while hopefully, helping to lessen the grief of their families" (Remembering Our Fallen website). This exhibition is generously co-sponsored by the Alta Library Board, and the Rembrandt Library Board, as well as our own Friends of the Library organization. "Meditation in Motion"--Chi Kung class Nov 07, 2016 from 09:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Ching Chi Kung Fu is a series of 18 flexing and stretching movements. These movements are designed to improve strength and balance, while focusing on breath. Repetition of each movement occurs in relaxing silence during the "Meditation in Motion" class sessions, led by Dr. Jo Bachman. Dr. Bachman has been practicing and teaching Chi Kung for 34 years and has a doctoral degree in Human Growth and Development. "Meditation in Motion" class sessions will last 45 minutes to an hour. A social coffee time will immediately follow for participants.

Current issues of local newspapers and school newsletters will be used to read articles aloud for those wanting to improve their reading and comprehension skills in English. Whether English is your first language or if you are learning English as an adult, you are welcome to join this group. Meeting Saturdays October 1-November 12, with the exception of October 29.
