All adults are invited to come to the Storm Lake Library and participate in our first ever Adult Coloring Night. Adult coloring has become wildly popular in the last few years. It's a great way to relax and reduce stress, using imagination and creativity! When done with others, coloring provides a great low-key opportunity to socialize.
The Library will have coloring pages from some best-selling coloring books, and colored pencils available. Participants are welcome to bring their own books and coloring materials too. Refreshments will be served. Hope to see you at Adult Coloring Night!

Our selection for February 22 is the classic "All the President's Men" starring Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman. Adults are invited to bring their lunches and enjoy watching with others. Attendees are free to come-and-go during the showing, so if you would like to stop in for part of the time during a lunch break feel free to do so. Some light refreshments will be provided.
CommUNITY Book Club will meet and discuss "Brown Girl Dreaming" by Jacqueline Woodson. Woodson tells the moving story of her childhood in mesmerizing verse. In vivid poems, she shares what it was like to grow up as an African American in the 1960s and 1970s, living with the remnants of Jim Crow and her growing awareness of the Civil Rights movement. Touching and powerful, each poem is both accessible and emotionally charged, each line a glimpse into a child's soul as she searches for her place in the world. "Brown Girl Dreaming" is a 2014 National Book Award winner, and also received the Coretta Scott King Award, a Newbery Honor Award, the NAACP Image Award and the Sibert Honor Award.
Nature Tots with Katie Struss, the Buena Vista County Naturalist will be here to talk about cool nature themed topics! This program is geared towards 2-4 year-olds but younger and older children are welcome to come with an adult. Katie will talk about groundhogs, read a story, have a craft, and finish with a snack.
